WTF happened this week in Bitcoin.

Big money is flowing into the Bitcoin ecosystem. Remember VC's are herd animals.

Hey Bitcoiner, Welcome back to another edition of…

Welcome back to the newsletter making sure your not falling behind on all the cool ish happening across Bitcoin.
This week we got light news for Bitcoin L1, and a TON of interesting things on Lightning, Stacks, and Rootstock.

Bitcoin

  • BitRefill now allows you to purchase an eSIM card for phone service with crypto. Another nice step to being able to live off Bitcoin as you globe trot.

  • Latest Bitcoin Optech newsletter right hurrr. The nerdiest, in the weeds newsletter for Bitcoin Core development. There was a big exploit found in a common Bitcoin library that affects seed phrase creation.

  • Xverse Wallet announced they closed a seed funding round of $5 million dollars, led by Jump Crypto with participation from Sfermion, Bitcoin Magazine, Bitcoin Frontier Fund and a bunch of there’s. Congrats to the team!

Ordinals

Check this out. This timeline lays out all the dope stuff that has happened in the past 8 months since the Ordinals protocol went live on mainnet.

  • Magic Eden has been shipping! They launched a big update to their inscription tool. You can trade/sell decimal place allotments of BRC20s. And now you can sweep an entire floor of inscriptions in one transaction.

  • The Ordinals Protocol core team announced they have officially started a non-profit foundation to further the development of Ord. People can donate directly to the team to make sure they have the support to build Ordinals in the way it deserves.

Stacks

  • Xverse & ALEX partnered up to bring swaps of Stacks based tokens directly inside the Xverse wallet app. The swaps are powered by ALEX smart contracts and liquidity pools.

Lightning

  • Geyser Crowdfunding platform integrated Zaps with Nostr. I still haven’t given Nostr a chance so I dunno what this means 🤷 Apparently its super easy to send Lightning BTC. You can learn more direct from the source.

  • Mutiny Wallet released an update that makes multi-device access better and payments more reliable. We like. We like a lot.

  • Mash released their new mobile browser-based wallet. You just save it to your home screen on Android or Apple device and it feels like a native app. So sick!

Rootstock

  • Sovryn gets a big update. You can now lend out your $rBTC or $DLLR and earn interest from borrowers who use the protocol. DeFi on Bitcoin baby!

Blockstream

  • Blockstream’s Jade Wallet gets a firmware update that brings better navigation UX, more intuitive QR code scanning flows among a couple other things. You don’t hear it talked about much but Jade is still the cheapest Bitcoin hardware in the game at $65 that you can feel safe storing your BTC on.

  • Christian Lowe (Bitcoin Researcher at Blockstream) was on a podcast deep-diving into the Simplicity smart contract language for Bitcoin.

Latest episode with Lisa Neigut.
This tweet snippet from the episode went viral as people realize the opportunity that exists developing on Bitcoin.

Thats it for this week.
Love yall!
