Bitcoin

Bitcoiners have a tense relationship with stablecoins.

  • TBD partners with Circle. They will be working on open standard and open source technologies to speed up the mass adoption of digital currencies. Starting with cross-border remittances between the US and Mexico. It's not exactly Bitcoin related, and Circle is centralized stablecoin. But this feels like a very smart move for mass adoption. Full announcement

  • The EU agrees on a legal framework for regulating crypto assets. Specifics are not live yet but this is one of the biggest pushes to adopt Bitcoin at this scale by a governing body. Bitcoin Magazine

  • Finally for Bitcoin, a Link to Bitcoin Optech Newsletter. The nerdiest and best place to stay up-to-date on updates to Bitcoin core code.

Stacks

Massive potential liquidity coming to Stacks.

  • Bridging USDC from Ethereum over to Stacks? Tell me more. That's the latest announcement from the team at ALEX, The biggest DeFi platform on Stacks. Stacks Bridge will allow users to bridge there USDC over from Ethereum and directly into the ALEX platform as xUSD. Circle is the most trusted custodian in stablecoins right now, and have massive liquidity that is now available to Stacks. Love to see. Full Announcement.

  • The Stacks blockchain saw massive transaction volume over the last week as .btc BNS names have caught fire. In response, The mempool became massively congested due to volume and inefficient processes between the mempool and Stacks miners. The core devs have released an upgrade that massively improves this process. Post covering specifics here.

Lightning

Lightning is hitting new ATH every week, despite the bear market.

  • Run a business and need to invoice customers while still being on the Bitcoin Standard? I just found out about this great service called Zaprite. Zaprite lets you send customers a beautiful invoice and be paid in Bitcoin, Lightning or with a credit/debit card. Nothing new from them this week but I hadn't seen this great service before and thought you should know about it.

  • Lightning capacity hits a new ATH. I feel like a broken record cause I say that every week. Latest stats

  • Strike raises 80m to expand faster and integrate with big brands. Wazzzzup

  • Tweetoshi releases a big upgrade. They are a new version of Twitter with Lightning integrated throughout the app. Worth a look.

  • Fountain seems to be shipping big upgrades weekly. This week they pushed an update that brings autoplay queue functionality, support for Apple CarPlay, and some good performance/stability improvements. Changelog

  • Bitcoin is changing many industries, Energy might be the most interesting. A new proposal has been formed that make it easier to track energy at the meter, and have a consumer pay for electricity with Lightning. Things like Distributed Charge GRID open the world up for more fair, free markets that are currently monopolized by a few players.

RSK

Rough week for RSK.

  • Some of Sovryn's lending pools have suffered an exploit. It's unclear how big the attack was, It's still be explored at the time of writing. They have made it known no user funds will be lost and are covered. The Sovryn Twitter is the best place to get the latest updates. Blog here.

  • The RSK network is also experiencing some issues. The ability to take your Bitcoin off the blockchain through the RBTC > BTC bridge is currently down. The dev team is currently working on it, no ETA on a fix yet. You can still swap your RBTC through the Liquality wallet or Sovryn Bridge. Follow the RSK Twitter for the latest.

That's it for this week's edition.
